Relics

As promised to Xingyi and Shyuing, here are the relics I was talking about. Muhahahahah. (Click on pictures to enlarge)

Relics

Relics Relics

Why so few pictures? I messed the rest up.

First picture is a portion of Buddha Shakyamuni’s relics that was unburnt when his body was cremated. The other, more colorful ones like the Blood Relic is not on Display.

Second picture is Maudgalayayana’s relics.

Third pic is Konchog’s relics.

Relics are pearl-like remnants of a body after a body has been cremated. Buddhists believe that only one of pure mind leaves behind relics.

Have a nice day!

Lol… technically, they are stones… but they are not exactly stones either. Not much mineral compound in them I think.

I just didn’t tell you what sort of stones

People used to kill to get a part of a relic. Even to the point of poisoning a saint, etc. Just for a scrap of that cloth or bit of hair.
