Yesterday, I posted my Top Ten Favourite Bond Girls. Today, here are my Top Ten Favourite Villians from James Bond -
- Hugo Drax (Moonraker)
- Elliot Carver (Tomorrow Never Dies)
- Auric Goldfinger (Goldfinger)
- Francisco Scaramanga (The Man with the Golden Gun)
- Karl Stromberg (The Spy who Loved Me)
- Elektra King (The World is Not Enough)
- Blofeld (various)
- Emilio Largo (Thunderball)
- Ari Kristatos (For Your Eyes Only)
- Alec Trevelyan (GoldenEye)
So who is your favourite Bond Villian? Tell me
Briefly:
Hugo Drax has the ultimate villain plan - Destroy and repopulate world, while Elliot Carver uses Blofeld’s method to gain news coverage for his media conglomerate. Goldfinger wants to destabilize the world’s economy (Supply and demand of Gold), therefor is high up in my list. Francisco Scaramanga has a third nipple, while Karl Stromberg shares the same idea with Drax. Electra King has similar plans with Goldfinger, but with oil instead. Blofeld is a great villian but spoilt with a terribly weak appearance in Diamonds are Forever and an even worse appearance in For Your Eyes Only. Largo was a so-so villian, but Kristatos was a bloody two face. Trevelyan well.. sending London back to the stone age was nasty.
Other Special Awards:
- Most Nefarious Plans - Hugo Drax (Moonraker)
- Most Plaussible Real-World Plans - Auric Goldfinger (Goldfinger) tied Elektra King (The World is Not Enough) tied Mr. Big (Live and Let Die)
- Most Well Played Villian - Christopher Walken as Max Zorin (A View to Kill)
- Villian Closest to Killing James Bond - Auric Goldfinger (Goldfinger)
- Crappiest Plans - Max Zorin (A View to Kill)
- Worst Repeat Plans - Gustave Graves (Die Another Day) - copies Diamonds Are Forever so much…geez
- Lamest Villian - Rosa Klebb (From Russia with Love)
Me… I like grand plans. Plans of grandiose villainy. Scaramanga was in the list because he’s Christopher Lee - a natural born villian (Dracula, Saruman, Count Dooku). My list was arranged according to the presence of the villians and the grandness of their plans. Also on how much I like their plans.
I mean, look, Goldfinger’s plans to disrupt the world supply of gold. Genius. Just genius.
Before I sign off, here’s to villiany in James Bond: MUHAHAHHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAH!!!
So, tell me who is your favourite Bond villian?
Cool?

Have yet to see all Bond films, but I find the one in Casino Royale pretty damn lame.
Alec Trevelyan from Goldeneye is my favourite villain, partly due to him being played by Sean Bean, and partly due to his history as a former MI6 agent.
i like the guy who had metal teeth!
Jon - yea.. Le Chiffe looks lame.
UW - That’s Jaws… he’s in my Henchmen list

Oh… yea…Jon, I also liked Trevelyan for wanting to bring Britain to the stone age.
Economic villians for the win!
All these names sound so greek to me.
