Adverse Effects of Exams

Posted in: Me Stuff

So finally the exam’s over. Over the course of me doing some hardcore studying (my friends will go: Wow.. Chewxy actually studies?) in the past 2 weeks prior to the exam or so, I’ve noticed that exams have brought some adverse effects into me life. Here are some described:

  • Sleeping Late
Pots of coffee brewed to keep me awake as I pore through my notes on Aggregate Demand and Supply. Which was more or less, a waste of time. It ended up with me being sick and forgetting everything.
  • Getting Sick
Yea.. Flu hit me. Real bad. It hit my sis even worse. My bones were aching all the way. Haha.. I’m still sneezing and having a runny nose.
  • Rashes
At a point of time, I had rashes all over me when I was studying. It was just too hot and stuffy here. Thank goodness it cleared before the exams
  • Acne Outbreak
My face is turning into pizza now. Gaaa!
  • Dried Up
Lol… I think I am becoming mummified by meself. Lips are dry, skin is peeling. Wrap me up in bandages and stuff me into a sarcophagus and I’d be shouting “Anack-soo-namun!”
  • Getting Really Angry for No Reason
My temper just flew out of control over the weeks. I just got too easily irritated. Some people got lashed at. Gotta cool down.
  • Sleeping in the Living Room
I also found myself on various occasions to be sleeping in the living room. I study there at night since my room is too stuffy. But apparently I keep falling asleep in the living room. The couch is really too soft and I wake up with extreme back aches.
  • Increased Sleeptalking
I dreamt that I answered Shyuing’s macroeconomics question over the phone… but when I woke up later, I asked Shyuing about it, and she said she called me. I checked my call records, and true enough, she did call me, and we had talked for some amount of time… most of the time I was answering her questions… and I was asleep.
  • Increased Nonsense
I started comparing everything as Real vs Nominal. Even Dim Sum became real (12 pieces of Siu Mai) and nominal (RM 8 ). I also started to explain to Soggie why oil prices didn’t go down (controlled economy + aggregate demand)
  • Increased Consumption of Music CDs
I looped my Legend of Zelda OST over and over and over and over and over and over… till it got stuck in the player. in the player. in the player. in the player. in the player. in the player. in the player. in the player. in the player…
  • Increased Midnight Food Consumtion
I’ve been eating a lot at night while I study. I think I finished the entire packet of shortbread and almost a box full of instant noodles (6 packets). I like Indomie.
  • Increased Consumption of Caffeinated Drinks
Everything from normal coffee and tea to Coke and Pepsi Max to Red Bull and Livita. Consumption of these drinks increased. I don’t usually drink soft drinks, but for the sake of caffeine, just do it.
  • Increase in Weight is not Proportionate to Increase in Consumption
I was wondering why too. I didn’t gain much weight. Maybe it’s because during the few days before the exams, I ate very very very little. (Also an idiot’s phone call during dinner time woke me and made me lose appetite.)
  • Orange Peels Become Interesting
    Orange Peel with a Face
Yes, the face was drawn on by pen. Isn’t Mr. Orange Peel Man just cute? Nope… I haven’t lost my marbles.
  • Rubber Sperm Becomes Interesting As Well
I started making more realistic rubber sperms during macro-economics exam. This proves that I have been erasing a lot during my exam
  • Increase in Facial Recognition Prowess
I met Ash and her sis immediately after Eco 102 exam. For the first time in many many years… I addressed them by their correct names, instead of bungling up and confusing them. But when Ash asked me what exam I just had, I hesitated, not remembering the horror of the exam that was Macroeconomics

Time for me to cop out for a little me time (Xingyi’s invited. Rest of you, stay out)

Yo man, I understand that you stay up late at night, but why not get decent sleep. Too much caffeine does not help concentration does it? The irritability stems from your caffeine, or lack of it af the effects wear off.

[...] Oh well, after my exams. And the fact that you’re reading this instead of something actually substantial on my blog is proof enough that exams have an adverse effect on me. [...]
