Dear blog,

Woke up on Saturday morning, 9.00 a.m. Bored. Checked my mail. 32 important ones, 22 unimportant ones, 159 spam messages. Bored. Watched TV. Bored. Lunch. Bored. Planned somethings, administrated some logins. Bored. Talked to Hashie about some important stuff. Bored. (He was boring)

4.00 p.m. - cfgt called to confirm. There was a mad rush to find my router. Called u238 to manufacture some CAT-5 wire.
6.00 p.m. - Still can’t find router. The box marked “Networking Devices” happened to be empty. Bored.
8.00 p.m. - Skipped dinner. Found router. Asked my mom to buy root beer and dinner. Bored. Raining. Bored while waiting for cfgt to arrive.

HA! And you thought this was a post about my boredom! Unfortunately, you’re kinda wrong.

At about 9.00 p.m (12 hours since I was up), cfgt, his younger brother and u238 arrived. LAN Party begins! (Yes, with the 4 of us only). I ate my dinner (fried rice)… finally.

Set-up was fast, and we soon settled into playing Warcraft III. That was the first game - EleTD. cfgt was using his Apple Powerbook to play, while the rest of us used PCs. After a few waves of attack, u238 was first to get schooled, but I was soon behind (well, I accidentally clicked a Level 3 Water Elemental instead of a Level 2 Nature Elemental).

The next game was Dawn of War: Dark Crusade. I had never played Dawn of War before (yea, believe me), and I was actually surprised that my PC can run it with pretty decent settings. So I played a DoW:DC tutorial then onwards it was to the LAN game! On a 3-on-5 (cfgt’s brother had by then gone home), we won, though I didn’t get to build my relic unit. :( Oh.. I had fired up the Army Painter and made my army look extremely ghey - PINK!.

At 2.30 a.m., after a little while later (a few drink breaks and toilet breaks along the way), we got out of the music room, and went to the living room, and hooke u238’s Playstation2 to the projector. Amongst the many games played, cfgt and u238 were crazy over Guitar Hero (of which I don’t know what is so fun about it)

Guitar Hero!!

Here, Tigara is watching us play Guitar Hero. In case you’re wondering about the 0% score, it was because I told cfgt that the game was ridiculous, and that in the event of an unlikely coincident tie, the game would crash, because obviously the programmers wouldn’t think of it. So we left the music to play on by itself, and scored 0%. Unfortunately… it didn’t crash. So, since it didn’t crash, here’s another photo, taken by u238 without the flash.

Smoke on Water

Lol.. it’s the only rock song that I’ve heard, Smoke on Water. I never really understood what the big deal about Guitar Hero is all about. The character on the left is cfgt’s character, and the one on the right is u238’s character. And in case you were wondering, yes, Tigara watched us play all night. Other games we played on the PS2 was Tekken 5, DOA2, Burnout and a few others that I don’t remember.

It was 4.30 a.m. when we went back into the music room to continue our crazy gaming. We messed around in the room before starting the next game - Counter-Strike: Source. Here’s me, using u238’s K800i to try to capture his camera’s flash. cfgt, as usual looks completely elsewhere.

Nip/Tuck thanks to Photoshop.

In CS: Source, I ruled. Nyahahahahaha. My frag count was up to 100+ by the end of the game (highest in the game lol). Also there was this thing about all of us constantly changing names. I started out (as usual) with the handle Suzumiya Haruhi, but somehow I changed my name to follow suit the bots’ prefix “Doomed …”, then everyone started changing names.

After countless of rounds of CS:Source (how do you think my frag count got to 100+), we were bored. So, back to Warcraft III it is! It is here, I discovered all things small and wonderful about WarCraft III… which included maps full of minigames like Peon Olympics and Mario Party. We also played Baseball, but none of us knew the rules of baseball (and there was no internet connection to Wiki it), so… ah.. Along the way, we also played DotA, and u238 got conned by a map that had Korean popstars on it.

Minigames can be addictive, I learned. And time consuming too. Very soon, it was already 8 a.m.. and time to eat. My mom had bought all of us Nasi Lemak. Which proved to be dangerous to LAN parties. Almost immediately after breakfast, we continued a game of EleTD, cfgt slumped forwards and fell right asleep on the table. u238 also started feeling sleepy. When cfgt woke up, we decided that it was time to pack up, and hence we did. Wires were unplugged, etc etc. A few other comments about u238’s LCD screen being heavy (it’s a Sony) and soon, everyone went home. The time then, was 11 a.m..

11 a.m…. A little bit more to do. I went out and put out the laundry into the sun to dry, and then went back to the music room to pack things up, and drag the PC back into my room, and set it up.

By the time that was done, it was 1.30 p.m.. I had been awake for 28 hours. Time to go to bed…

.

..

except I woke up at 5.30 p.m.. Just 4 hours of sleep!!! I’d had expected to sleep more. Later, I had went to sleep after dinner at some 1.30 a.m (The Hogfather kept me awake for the umpteenth time - I blame Death and Susan Sto Helit. Staring into your computer monitor strains the eyes.)… and woke at 6.00 a.m.. Well… at least I had repaid my 8 hours of sleep, but, so much for stamina. I expect that a young person’s body like mine should be able to function with more stamina, but oh well. Aging is a fact of life :(.

p/s: Hashie, you’re gonna squeal with ecstacy this 24th (X’mas eve)… :D

LOL - I completely had no mental (or physical) stamina that day because I was helping with the repainting of my house earlier in the day (until about 2pm) (that is, in addition to the fact that I do really need a lot of sleep, everyone who has been to a LAN party with me in it know how quickly my gaming detioriates when I don’t have enough sleep). :( And, I only managed to sleep 1 hour. By the time we got to CS: Source - it took me about 1-2 seconds to register a mouse click. Then me, being quite the Element TD freak, I was pretty bored, especially when u238’s comp crashed for some unknown reason at level 28.

Well.. I’d have sent you an invitation, but you know… you’re in Eirann, and we’re here… it’s kinda expensive to come back and just play. And miss your exams

Oooooooooooooookay, half of the time, I have no idea what you’re talking about, mainly because a) I’m technologically-retarded (the politically-correct term is “techno-CHALLENGED”, thank you) and b) I don’t play games I can’t win =P

Princess: nyahahahahha. Neither do I. If I play, I either have already won it, or I play for the fun and thrill of it.

u238: My pink was… eyeball gourging… nearly dug my eyes out. Yours was equally gay as well

I’m glad you enjoyed the movie. I most certainly did. Plus, I get to talk with the Voice of Death, and that gives me a legal reason to stalk people, and wait round corners…be inevitable, just like Taxes…
