Shopping for Backalleys and Guns

So I went shopping for back alleys this morning with Abel. We went looking for a few back alleys in downtown KL - dirty looking ones are favored, and so, tottering with a camera, we set off by bus to KL. Here is one back alley that I like very much:

And here is one with a stairwell. I liked it immensely as well -

This is a signboard on Petaling Street (note the emphasis on pirated goods):

There were several back alleys around the Petaling Street area that have fantastic foods, and there were too, some very scary looking back alleys, where everyone there looked ready to mug someone. But what can you expect - I was looking for dirty looking back alleys. But, on the plus side, I did stumble upon the back alley where 28 Hours Later was filmed. It didn’t fit my bill though.

Later, when we were tired, we went shopping for a toy gun. Sure, I’d love to borrow one of Hangmen’s BB Guns (he has a huge collection), but too bad he’s not around. The next option would be to shop around for a toy gun. And I did eventually find one. I was so embarrassed when paying for the toy gun - it’s really childish. Abel, being the mean one, refused to go to the cashier to pay (RM 5). And when I was paying for it, he sauntered along the cashier and said something like “Chewxy! You’re so old and still playing toy guns!!!??”. Bloody. Here’s the toy gun:

Don’t laugh. As soon as I spray paint it, it will look as good as real. Besides, shooting suction cup arrows at people like Hashie was fun.

Also, on the way home, we witnessed an incident with a British couple (or a caucasian couple with a very strong British accent) and a blind girl that put Malaysians to shame.

There was this blind girl who got out of the LRT, and she walked to the stairs, feeling around with her cane. Naturally, she would have some trouble trying to get down the stairs. A British couple who were in front of the girl helped her down the stairs. When I was on the ground floor, I distinctly heard another Malaysian girl who commented on the blind girl (who was still being helped on the steps by the old couple): “Oh, so she’s the one who’s causing the jam on the stairs”, and she walked off pompously.

Heh… such incivility. Then again, I did nothing to help the blind girl, so hey, I guess I’m a hypocrite too.

My collection ain’t huge unlike certain people who can come and go freely to Thailand. I’ve stopped collecting them (going back to 1/6 figures) and currently sitting idle in my cupboard waiting for a zombie invasion or people infected with Rage Virus. Dart guns are fun, seriously, and spraypainting em’ will give em’ a nice look for cosplaying.

ayjk: Uh. Not good. Go watch POTC

I don’t know why but there’s just too many girls in the LRT this week and they all look beautifully sexy insane.

Can’t wait to get into the LRT.

chewxy: use pictures on the internets as reference. Use some masking tape if you wanna spraypaint specific parts nicely. If you’re really creative, you can draw logos or markings on the dart gun, maybe make em’ look like Revy’s Cutlass pistols in Black Lagoon (Wiki or Google it if you don’t know).

Ken: Don’t encourage her. Heh. Zodiac should be good. Shrek 3 not so good.

Hangmen: Matte paint? or Shiny? (CS models are so reflective)

All depends on preference, but shiny colors are recommended because we all wanna look cool while holding a ‘gun’ don’t we? OMG SHINY THINGS!

That “gun” won’t work against the zombies in 28 Weeks Later. Prolly make them even more angtsy.

[...] What sort of movie am I making? As a few people (namely, Kai Loon, Aoshi, and Hangmen) already guessed, it’s a zombie movie. Right. Har har. What? I DID give hints! Example: Shopping for Backalleys and Guns chronicled my buying toy guns for the production as props, and Stupid Replies exhibited Shuba’s reaction . In Water Rationing, too, I did mention something about a sticky session with Shuba, Sarah and Grace - namely a rehearsal session that got everyone sweaty. [...]
