I had the Silver Surfer in a Fantastic Four movie posted long before Avi Arad came out with the idea to put it there. Heh.
Anyways, I watched Rise of the Silver Surfer and it wasn’t a great movie. But definitely better than the first movie. And on the plus side, we get to see more of Jessica Alba (in glasses too!!!!). And I thought that Galactus was a pretty good touch - since a purple skirted male man would seem inappropriate for a world devouring entity. I felt some scenes just didn’t work, but some scenes were good - like Reed Richard’s schoolboy speech. 5/10 (Because I’m in a good mood)
I also happened to catch The Mistress of Spices - which was a very much better movie. I admit, I watched it because it had Aishwarya Rai in it, but the movie did surprise me. It’s story telling is pretty weak, but hits home to some points on culture, traditions and the like. Not bad. 6/10 (also because I’m in a good mood)

I watched Mistress of Spices last year, and I have to say the book is much better, IMHO.

i gave up watching Mistress of Spices after 1/2 an hour on Astro. But since it was Aishwarya, my mum continued watching to the end…. LOL!
