Quick question: What does Alfred Loh, Geoffrey Allen, Grace Ng, Justin Frances, Sarah Low, and Shubashni J. Retnam have in common?
Asides from you probably not knowing them, they’re the new cast of my upcoming movie. This project has been ongoing for over two months now, and that’s primarily the reason why I am not online most of the time. As this project nears its completion, I shall divulge more.
Also, here’s a shout out to the best producer a man can get – Edmund Yeo. He has contributed great amount of time, and counsel on this project. Great guy.
What sort of movie am I making? As a few people (namely, Kai Loon, Aoshi, and Hangmen) already guessed, it’s a zombie movie. Right. Har har.
Tentatively named Intelligent Design, this is a movie about religious zombies who think that the world is subject to intelligent design, as opposed to stupid design (afterall, humans only use some 25% of their brain. It’s inefficient, hence the argument for intelligent design falls flat). Har har!!! (If you believe me)
What? I DID give hints! Example: Shopping for Backalleys and Guns chronicled my buying toy guns for the production as props, and Stupid Replies exhibited Shuba’s reaction
. In Water Rationing, too, I did mention something about a sticky session with Shuba, Sarah and Grace (and Alfred, whose name was intentionally left out to lead you readers to think naughty) – namely a rehearsal session that got everyone sweaty. And of course, some of you were wondering why I was reading other people’s C.V.s, well, now you know.
And here are some photos…

Grace Ng

Alfred Loh

Shubashni J. Retnam

Sarah Low

Justin Frances
Then of course, we have the few rehearsal pictures that don’t reveal anything about the story:

Edmund going thru the script with Sarah and Shuba

Having fun going thru the script with eaten dinner (I cooked).
Over the next few days and few weeks, I’ll be revealing more and more about the movie. In the mean time, I am looking for local Malaysian bloggers who want to appear in the movie. Please leave a comment in this blog, or email me at
, or call/SMS – 012-9148261.
Btw… do you think that Edmund looks thinner thru my camera? He’s cameoing as a zombie who gets shot at by Shuba.
Looks good…all the best!
I finally realised that I really have a massive head and extremely small body.I got a shock of my life.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
ayjk: Thanks
redbeansoup: See what Edmund has been telling you? Now embrace thy cuteness.
sweaty chicks, zombies and guns. just add some light-sabers, gladiators and jessica alba dancing with a pole and you’ll have a winner.
well, actually you already got me with the sweaty chicks. yes.
wow…. i am impressed….. ur photoshop skillz have transcended me into Loserdom.
no really, its great, i look really pathethic
If only my head is preserved in a jar and attached to a highly mobile humanoid machine with the ability to fly at supersonic speed, I might volunteer.
Empyreal: Nope. None of the above. But Jessica Alba pole dancing probably comes close
Alfred: I know. I noticed I forgot to shoot you with a gun.
Hangmen: Fly lah. Sabah is not far.. wait. It IS
Do it well. Impress all of us. I will be backing you , big bro.
Steadified! I finally get to see what your actors look like
All the best, and you can always call me up if you need an extra hand or two, keeping in mind i’ll only be free after the 1st. LOL.

Wunderbar!
[...] It’s a wrap for my movie shoot last Wednesday. But then on Thursday I had went back to Penang, so I didn’t have time to update it on my blog. So… one week after my announcement is made, I update. Heh. While Edmund shakes his head while looking at raw footage (and how much of it can be salvaged into a movie)… here’s more production pictures for you to see. Light, Script and Gun. It’s a BB Gun, so it doesn’t shoot bullets, just heavy. Walther PPK wannabe. Everyone goofin’ off. L-R: Alfred Loh, Sarah Low, Justin Frances, Grace Ng. Bottom: Eunice Phang [...]
Updated with Justin’s photo
[...] A day after my announcement on my movie, I got contacted by a potential actor whom I had previously auditioned. Now that shoots have wrapped up, I’ll post it here. This was our chat log (names have been changed): [...]
[...] Since then, I got involved in a couple of producing gigs (one of them being Chewxy’s short film, where I had the pleasure of meeting a horrendous method actor who went VERY sour when he wasn’t chosen for the role). And with all these juggling, RED BEAN SOUP was put aside for a while (which was unsurprising, since I still wasn’t really making that much progress with the story). [...]
Can you hook me up with Sarah Low????????
I don’t care if she’s married.
I found your site on google and read a few of your other posts. Keep up the good work.
