Once a Year

I believe this: Once a year, I will chance upon a short book that echoes my worldview. Last year, it was Freakonomics. I was thinking the whole way thru the book: Damn! This is how I viewed the world!

This year, too, have I found a book that rather echoes my world view. Whereas last year’s Freakonomics echoed the way I think things thru, this year, the book echoed my philosophical views. Method and concept are now one.

What book is it? It’s fiction, and has absolutely no action in it. Instead, the book is just a bunch of dialogue with someone really famous. The whole premise of the book is that of an anonymous girl interviewing some really famous person in real life. The interview didn’t really take place, of course, since this famous person has since long departed this world.

Think of it as Tuesdays with Morrie, without the sappy nonsense that I can’t stand. And just like Freakonomics finding a perfect balance between social science and economics, this book is also well balanced between two topics that strike harmony upon each other.

What book is it? You’ll have to stay tuned for the review, which I will do. Or not. But I’m happy. If there ever is a book that I want to adapt into film, it’s this book. Yes, even if the film doesn’t make money.

And oh, I watched Alien vs Predator: Requiem. I’m sorry I dragged you along, Rachell… but it’s good that we both lost 50 points in IQ. Review soon.

In other news: I’m helping so many people write and publish their books, I might as well go into the publishing business

I hated AVP2. It was so boring and predictable. I think I lost about 62 IQ points, rendering my IQ at a possibly negative level now, heh.
