Random Miscellaneous Stuff

Posted in: Miscelleny

Here are some random stuff:

  • It took me about 10 weeks to lose 10 kilos in Australia
  • It took me about 6 days to gain 6 kilos back in KL. Bloody mamak food.
  • And yes, I am weight conscious.
  • I was talking to someone about alien abductions. Then I sent her home. It was midnight. Then the radio in the car started playing Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft by Klaatu [barada nikto], covered by The Carpenters.
  • It was the singular most freaky driving moment I ever had. The lights that were strangely hovering above my car were not as freaky.
  • The next morning, I was having breakfast in a mamak store, and I saw someone who looks strangely like Sebastian.
  • Except it wouldn’t make sense, because Sebastian is now in L.A, and even if he were in KL, he wouldn’t intentionally pay a toll to get to that food shop I was in
  • The Sebastian-lookalike was working on a computer. When I got closer, I saw he was working on some Final Draft-like program. Cue dramatic music.
  • Chances are, you, my readers, aren’t geeky enough to know why I inserted the “barada nikto” after “Klaatu” above.
  • Consider this conversation:

    Nigel says:
if one were to judge collges by their brochues alone
    Nigel says:
    i wonder…
    Nigel says:
    do american colleges have classrooms?
    Nigel says:
i mean, they seem to have roller coasters, mickey mouse, the grand canyon, some massive lake…
    Nigel says:
    the hollywood sign
    Chewxy says:
    LOL!!!!
    Nigel says:
all that and students study on the grass?
    Chewxy says:
    ahahahah
    Chewxy says:
my uni has pictures of that too
    Nigel says:
maybe if u cant afford the grass u gotta study on the steps at the building entrance
    Chewxy says:
you know this is going into my blog
    Nigel says:
    credit me!
    Nigel says:
    but seriously
    Nigel says:
americans sell their colleges in a funny way, if u have been to an american edu fair…
    Nigel says:
they seem to be compelled to include a picture of any tourist attraction within a few hrs drive of their campus on the brochure
    Chewxy says:
    LOL
    Nigel says:
and even if there arent really any, they’ll throw in a generic photo of a rollercoaster or soemthing

  • You readers might not get the Klaatu Barada Nikto sentence, but you’ll get my next one.
  • In Australia, we have a handyman to the house I’m staying in. His name is Leo.
  • And also we have three sisters staying in the house. Weird people - they draw pentagrams on the floor and chant “…something something will set us free”
  • Also, occasionally they leave a big tome on the dinner table. The latin words on the title reads “Liber ab Umbra”
  • This is to Liss: On the rare occasion Leo comes, please ask him to fix my lights!!!!!!!!!!!! Afterall, only he has levitation skills a ladder to fix my lights
  • I have watched Lust, Caution and Enchanted. Finally.
  • And every episode of Hannah Montana. Fuck, yeah!!!
  • Funniest geeky stuff I read this week: “Tits || GTFO”
  • If you didn’t know what that means - it means “Tits or GTFO”
  • Atonement is the next show to watch. Abel? Up for it?
  • I rewatched Death Note part II, and thought that it was made with a lot of Japanese sensibility. If Hollywood were to remake the movie, they would leave it with an ambiguous end for Light. Something about Hollywood filmmaking and their screwed up moral compasses. Hmm.
  • I still think the ending of the movie was lame.
  • In fact, the ending of Death Note manga was lame as well (it got lame with Mellow and Near - too dragged out)
  • And yes, I rewatched Death Note part II because L: Change the World is coming out in February, and I intend to watch it.

    In case some idiot asks:
Liber ab Umbra roughly translates to “Book of Shadows”, and yes, it’s in REAL latin.

More like The Day the Earth Stood Still, a 1950s scifi movie.
