Web of Lies Local Premiere Party++

Right. I had a local showing of my movie, Web of Lies in my house two days ago. Almost everyone I invited turned up (save a few exceptions, and 2 cast members were unavailable). Not much is needed to say. I’m not that satisfied with how the movie turned out (the boom microphone picked up way too much bass), but here is the story in pictures:

Preparation
First, there was the preparations…. Hashie is there helping me set up the projector, while others are socializing.

Everyone is eating dinner (I cooked), and socializing, pausing only to take this photo

Edmund and Suanie
Suanie and Edmund savoring my food (somewhere between a mac-and-cheese and a white tuna sauce, which Suanie calls “student food”)

The Beginning of the Movie
Finally! The movie. This is the a photograph of the DVD menu.

The Screen while the movie is playing
The movie playing…

Everyone watching, enraptured
Everyone (except Sarah), watching, enraptured (or laughing at the ridiculousness of it all).

Sarah Introducing Alfred's Ass
Sarah gasping at Alfred’s arse on screen

Group Photo - Cast and Crew
Everyone! (L-R: Aaron, me, Paul, Justin, Grace, Sarah, Eunice, Suba, Suanie, Edmund, Abel. On screen: Geoffrey, Alfred).

As I mentioned, the final visual product is about 90% of my vision achieved, but the audio sucked and screwed everything up. Everyone had the same comment, LOL. The music, however, is not sucky. In fact, IMO, Jien Han did a very good job on writing the final two pieces - Confession and Finale and End Credits (both are included on the DVD as extras).

However, as Sean Caroll mentioned, it ain’t a party without a whiteboard. The following day, I had a meeting (with different groups of people of course), and these are selected items that were scribbled on the whiteboard (the rest, unfortunately, wasn’t photographed):

Assumptions stated
It says here: Assumptions: 1. J.M. Keynes’ Beauty Contest, 2. Self Interests

Time Graph
And this is a time-series graph (and modelled as continuous, despite the fact that the data we were using is discrete) of something we assume to happen.

The whiteboard is pretty smudged up and greyish already, as it is quite old (read Sean’s wife Jennifer’s explanation - Sidenote: their love story is amazingly interesting, I keep getting reminded of Doc Ock from Spidey II), but still serves its purpose. LOL.

Through this party, I’ve learnt a lot about the circle of friends I am around in. My circle of friends seem to be more health conscious now. In times past, if and when I held parties, it was always the soft drinks that finished first. This time round, the green tea was the first to finish (and leaving about 2 spare bottles of ginger beer and ice cream soda practically untouched).

And I must really thank the likes of Hashie, who tremendously helped me in the preparation of the party (which was a bit hectic, since I didn’t plan on picking anyone up, which I did, LOL). And to my great cast (and crew, a.k.a. Chewxy) who participated in the movie, my producer, Edmund Yeo, and everyone else who appeared at the party (like Abel and Aaron). I really really thank you all.

And to those of you who didn’t make it. Too baaaaaaad. Suckers. LOL

p.s: we also saw an advanced screening of Edmund’s new movie - Kurus. Not bad at all. Well shot, but a bit broody.

p.p.s: And yes, Suanie did appear in my movie. Remember I was casting for local bloggers?

Oi, how come I wasn’t invited? And how come I’m not part of the cast? I told you I do full frontal nudity… Bastard. I guess you made all those promises just so you could sleep with me. Asshole.

I’d have sex with you if your name’s Michelle, and have boobs and a vagina.

[...] So Chewyx had a mini screening of his movie last week. I was invited along with Edmund (who was credited as co-producer), and had dinner prepared by Chewyx. Then he screened the final product… and I had some cringe-worthy moments… [...]
