I’ve recently picked up a habit of reading many books at the same time. Previously, I had the habit of finishing one book before I start the other. These few days, I’ve been reading very slowly, with my work (and uni) taking a majority of my time. So, here’s what I’ve been reading:

And here’s a detailed list + a little description of each:
- Against Paranoid Nationalism
, by Ghassan Hage
Quite an interesting little book. But it’s jam packed with words (i.e. very small fonts). The context is largely Australian, but can be adapted to suit the context of the world instead. Not done reading yet, progress is slow. There are some things I agree with him, and a little that I disagree (though his style of writing tends to make you agree with him) - Ethnicity and Ethnic Relations in Malaysia, Multiple Authors, Editor: Raymond Lee
Curious book, this. It’s old, and no longer in print, but still affords interesting insights on the racial problems that plague Malaysia today. I’ve only gotten as far as the first paper but.. it’s interesting enough to warrant a continued reading. It would be interesting to note that to this day, Malaysia promotes itself as a multicultural society, when it is in fact a plural society. - Principles of Econometrics
by Hill et. al
Econometrics text book for my course. Whilst I know most of its contents already, I still use it as a very handy reference book in my work. - Core Python Programming by Wesley J. Chun
I use it as a reference book as well. Important book to me, very frequently refered to.
In the background, beneath the green paper, is a MySQL cheatsheet, courtesy of ILoveJackDaniels. And yes, I do rely on these cheat sheets as I don’t really bother remembering my SQL query commands.
Also, whoever who has been commenting as Chewxy on various blogs (like Elanor’s)… that’s not me. At all. I’ve been too busy to even catch up with Valleywag’s scoop on the Jimmy Wales scandal (or as some of you may know, I have 1.5 weeks of unwashed laundry piled up). If it’s you, Harrison bin Handsome, I know all about you already. And I’ll really wreck your life if you continue.
Cool?

Is that Harrison STILL coming after you? Geez, you’d think he’d get a life.

Heh.. don’t think its him. I found some asshole trying to SQL inject this site this morning. It was brilliantly routed through a few proxy servers. I think they are connected
