That’s what I wrote. And then you go.. hmm, that’s right, Chewxy doesn’t bother about Planet Earth because he’s not human (that’s my writing on the board btw). So, here’s Earth Hour in pictures…
My house, before 8 p.m. :
Tou is seen standing outside on the balcony, looking at our neighbors, who are seemingly oblivious about Earth Hour.
8.06 p.m.
By 8.06 p.m., we turned off all the lights in our house. Tou went to the neighbor’s house (thru the window) to turn off their lights for them.
Now, I know some people who don’t have their monitors bright enough can’t see this, so I’ve brightened it for you:

Now I bet, given my track record of rubbishing environmental efforts and global warming (no, I still think global warming is bullshit. The scientific evidence given isn’t enough to sway me)… so why did I participate in Earth Hour (yep, I turned off all my lights and shut down my server)?
Dunno… maybe I like going back to living like a caveman? Maybe its groupthink… or maybe I just felt like asking everyone to turn off their lights. Or more sinisterly, I like to hear random girls shouting “chikan!!!” in the dark. Regardless, it was a change to be in the dark for a while. Last night, I slept with my lights off (I usually sleep with my lights on because I don’t go to sleep.. I usually fall asleep while doing something, like reading, or doing my assignments)
I blatantly left my lights on during Earth Hour.
1: I forgot about it.
2: (Is there any other reason?)
I do however use the minimum needed electricity every day. Lights are always off whenever possible. My housemate follows the same principle – so darkness reigns in my place.
Light reigns in my place. I use low wattage lights though. (My real-estate agent keeps replacing them with tungsten light bulbs o_O)
Hey, I fall asleep with the lights on too! Usually on top of my law books, haha. But anyway, the purpose of Earth Hour is to promote awareness about saving energy right? (Correct me if I’m wrong)
But look at the Facebook group created and all the blog entries and sites yapping on and on about it. It sort of defies the purpose, doesn’t it? You’re wasting more energy to encourage other people to waste less.
That’s stupidity at its very finest.

I didn’t even check the time. By the time i noticed what time it was… it was 2136. So i didn’t bother in the end.
