Fourth of July

Ahah, it’s the Fourth of July. As such, it is time to get American friends over and come and party. You know afterall, USA is a country with ahem.. secure borders and open doors.

So, we had a party for our resident American girl in the house, Kels. And to make the party more fun, we invited even more American friends over. And we ate American food (meaning, unhealthy stuff like burgers and hotdogs and pepsi and coke floats).

And thus, here are the pictures:

Above is Kels, Jane and Sue in front of the white board.

We had quite a bit of fun. Those who were present were Kels, the all American chick, Jane, from Manhattan, NY, Sue, from Michigan, Chuck from Dallas, Texas (no, not Norris), John from Wisconsin, and Greg from SF (brilliant guy, talked a lot about math, economics and physics).

The above was a picture of all the Americans. Greg’s holding my laptop, changing my Xbox playlist.

And Cat, from NY, who joined us late, enjoying a hot dog.

When Kels came home from Uni, we surprised her by suddenly bursting into song - the Star-spangled banner, specifically. Also, a lot of naughty comments were passed about stuffing the hot dogs into the vaginas I mean, buns.

After a few hours and a few Coronas (Mexican beer) later, here’s Chuck acting out a scene from Superman. Note the red, white and blue.

Ah, fun times.

But the same can’t be said about the American Consulate though. Tools, and pinnacle of American stupidity, if anything. And totally frustrating. Hmm, maybe that’s why I couldn’t write much for this article.

I went to the Consulate yesterday and had the worst horrible frustration in my life. I waited 5 hours at the Melbourne Consulate for my turn (having to take off my shoes and frisked and scanned all that nonsense), and then they told me to go to Sydney’s Consulate, because they didn’t have jurisdiction over my application. WTF?

And today is Fourth of July. Ah well.

Buns? are you serious they were buns? I don’t believe you. I had too much fun to believe that. Did you have fun recording my “hot dog stuffing” demonstration? :P
