Battlestar Galactica is coming to an end this Saturday (for me. For Americans, its this Friday night). Here’s my top ten BSG moments which I totally enjoyed. These are moments of sheer awesomeness, or when the brain just goes ‘ding’ and you say… “whoa”, and you just remember them for life.
SPOILER ALERT: This is not for those who has not watched Battlestar Galactica and want to watch them.
- Admiral Adama jumps Battlestar Galactica into New Caprica’s atmosphere
This was the most badass scene I remember from Battlestar Galactica. It touches the inner nerd as well as the guy in me who loves to see visual effects. - Julius Baltar
Whilst many people hated the flashbacks in the penultimate finale, I felt that the introduction of Julius Baltar told a lot about Gaius’ behaviour – it changes his character. No longer is Gaius a drunk millionaire playboy genius – he’s now a person. And I wonder much about Caprica Six’s intent on moving Julius to a better place too – did she do it out of love or because she wanted access to the defence mainframe? - Six in the Armitice Station
Definitely one of the more memorable scenes for me – when the new Centurions marched in and Six walked in. Then kaboom. Awesome. - Watching two old men fistfighting
Adama vs Tigh. It was a brief fistfight but awesome nonetheless. Also, the comment about the ship? Brilliant. - Cally’s death
That was really haunting – the last images of Cally floating in space, frozen and bloated. Hopefully Tory gets what’s coming for her. Unlikely though. - Saul Tigh killing Ellen
That was a tender moment. Very well shot, plenty of emotions, and not much words (well, Ellen had a lot to say). - Starbuck opening the downed Cylon raider (Scar?)
Opening the raider’s fine. Finding it full of organic stuff? Icky, and memorable. Definitely memorable - Any of Adama’s speeches
From “I know where Earth is!” to “Let there be no illusions, that this will likely be a one way trip!” – Admiral Adama definitely knows how to rouse people with his speeches. He’s more an orator than Barrack Obama – I give you that. - Gaius Baltar in Season 1
The whole time, with him and his Head Six were brilliant – especially when she manifested as Shelly Godfrey. Baltar trying to clear himself of evidence? Awesome. - Threesome!
I bet those scenes were added in just because sex sells, but you’d never expect a threesome with Baltar and Six and D’Anna after they had just tortured the frak outta him.
What are your top ten BSG moments?
I’ve only seen one episode, but what was happening was the crew was infected with some sort of alien disease. And they were looking at this bacteria under the microscope and one crew member asked, “What is it?” and the medic lady said, “It’s a microorganism.” I was like, wtf or course it’s a microorganism. I hate her. lol
I’m not sure if that’s the new BSG.
